mark@alpenrisk.com Mark is a patroller at Gunstock in New Hampshire with extensive experience in risk management in the ski and resort industry and over 30 years of experience in insurance, safety, loss control,regulatory compliance, and employment practices. He has been involved in creating many of the risk management, loss control, incident investigation, mountain safety, and terrain park guidelines used throughout the snowsports industry today.

The Outdoor Risk Management (ORM) program was created in the spring of 2019.

NSP’s ORM program provides training and education in risk management for patrollers who may be asked to perform risk management functions for their resort operators.

This education program is in development. It will address topics including legislation, industry standards and practices, and risk identification and mitigation activities, along with operational basics of other on-mountain departments such as ski/ride school, lift operations, lift maintenance, terrain park operations, snowmaking and grooming.
