NSP Alumni Celebration Week at Whitefish Mountain, Montana,

February 25 - March 2

Banquet hall for weddings with decorative elements

Whitefish Mountain (formerly Big Mountain) consistently ranks in the top 30 US ski resorts. It offers 3,000 skiable acres, almost 2,400 vertical feet, 11 chairlifts, and provides an incredible skiing and snowboarding experience. In 2023, they are offering $32 lift tickets for “super seniors” (age 70 and up) and discounts for those 65 and up (book online for multi-day savings). This means that alumni, spouses, and younger skiers can save money. For more information, visit skiwhitefish.com.

Accommodations: Most of our attendees choose to stay at the nearby and highly-rated Grouse Mountain Lodge. It’s just minutes from the mountain and offers a free shuttle to downtown, the mountain, and the airport. The lodge features lovely rooms for double occupancy, all at just $89 per night. To book your stay, call the lodge at (406) 892-2525 or email glacierpark@pursuitcollection.com. The event starts on Sunday, Feb. 25, and you can stay for multiple days or the entire week. Be sure to identify yourself as “National Ski Patrol Alumni.” Also, notify Tim at tviall@msn.com of your arrival date.

Join fellow NSP Alumni, NSP members, family, and friends for weekly activities and fun:

  • Breakfast/espresso bar/pastries mornings: At Grouse Mountain Lodge, join your old and new NSP friends at 7 AM (so you can catch the lodge shuttle into downtown to connect to the Snow Bus)!
  • Dinners: Enjoy dinners at the lodge or in downtown Whitefish each night. Meet with friends or join a group each night.
  • Optional Tour into Glacier National Park: On Tuesday, there’s no charge for an optional tour into Glacier National Park.
  • Horse-drawn Sleigh Rides: These are available for an additional fee, as are Dog Sled Adventures in nearby Montana State Forests. If interested, advise Tim for details.
  • Cross Country Skiing: The Lodge is adjacent to a nice cross-country ski course with night lighting. An XC outing is also planned on Tuesday into nearby Glacier National Park for those interested.
  • Special Nights Out at Local Restaurants: Gather at 6:30 PM on Sunday night at Grouse Mountain Lodge, and enjoy dinners at restaurants like Latitude 48, Whitefish Lake Restaurant, Abruzzo Italian Kitchen, and others (TBD) from Monday to Thursday nights.
  • Clinics: There are plans to arrange a no-cost “Old Knees Clinic” during the week, along with a cross-country outing to help you sharpen your ski skills.
  • Shopping in Downtown Whitefish: There will be plenty of time to shop each day. Carpooling or using the hotel shuttle into downtown will be organized for those interested.
  • Air Service: Kalispell Regional Airport has major carriers, and the hotel offers shuttle service to and from the airport for a modest charge. Arrange transportation when making your reservation or by calling the lodge at 406-892-2525.
