Train the Trainer (TTT) – Special SES
The TTT is a clinic for snowsports trainers at Western Region areas who work with patrol candidates. The training is focused on how to teach ski/ride skills to candidates. Included are skills that form the foundation for free skiing/riding and are important for effective toboggan handling – such as traverse, sideslip, falling leaf, pivot slip, and hockey stop. The clinic begins indoors with “boots on” practicing stance and balance and a discussion of the PSIA-AASI Fundamentals. On-snow the clinic addresses teaching progressions, effective demonstrations, movement analysis, and corrective exercises. Trainers who participate will have the tools to effectively conduct ski/ride proficiency training at their area. As time permits, the clinic will focus on free skiing/riding for the participants on varying terrain and the use of video analysis.
